Who2: Not the Album?

Pete Townshend has been teasing us for two years with his claims that the next album from The Who would be titled Who2.

But it was too good to last. Now Pete says that it was all a gag.

According to RockRadio.com, the album title is now Endless Wire. They quote Townshend thusly: ""I was the one that came up with the working title of Who2, which was a bit of a sarcastic dig at my friends in the famous Irish rock-and-roll band that have a similar name, but it's also because there are just two of us."

Sarcastic dig? And all this time we thought it was a sincere homage to his favorite biographical dictionary?

For shame. We won't get fooled again. (Har!)
