Big Brown is as Sound as the Dollar
Newsday reports that nothing seems wrong with racehorse Big Brown after his lackluster performance in the Belmont Stakes on Saturday.His owners have "ruled out pulmonary bleeding, mucus in the lungs and breathing problems caused by a displaced palate."
The Louisville Courier-Journal tosses out a few theories.

I just heard that one of Big Brown's shoes were coming off. If that is true, surely that would have been one of the first things the examiners would have seen, since they would have been looking at his hoofs, seeing the trouble he had with a split in one. Is this true that one of the shoes was coming off?
