Ricardo Montalban Pitches the Cordoba
Nobody uttered "Cordoba" quite like Ricardo Montalban. "Great comfort at a most pleasant price," indeed.
It's a measure of Montalban's talent that he could make a memorable ad out of such an ugly ride.
30 years later, "Corinthian leather" now has its own Wikipedia entry. ("Does not actually indicate any relationship with Corinth.") And though the line is often parodied as "reech Corinthian leather," true Montalbanophiles know that he actually murmured "soft," not "rich."
For Star Trek fans, here's a pretty-darn-good mashup of Cordoba and Khan.

RICARDO WAS ONE OF THE GREAT ONES OF ACTORS.I REMEMBER SEEING ALL OF THE FANTASY ISLAND EPISODES AND THEY WERE ALL GREAT.I ALSO LIKED HIM IN STAR TREK THE WRATH OF KHAN.HE WILL BE MISSED.REST IN PEACE RICARDO.YOUR MOVIES AND SHOWS WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED.
