Caroline Kennedy
Political Relative / Writer
Caroline Kennedy is the daughter of president John F. Kennedy and his wife Jacqueline. Caroline was three years old when her father became president, and the White House antics of Caroline and her younger brother John Jr. were popular with the press and public alike. (President Kennedy was killed in office in 1963, just a few days before Caroline's sixth birthday.) Caroline earned her undergraduate degree in 1979 from Radcliffe College (now part of Harvard) and later studied law at Columbia University. She married the designer and businessman Edwin Schlossberg in 1986. They have three children: Rose (b. 1988), Tatiana (b. 1990) and John (b. 1993). Caroline Schlossberg is the author of books including The Right to Privacy (with Ellen Alderman, 1995), The Best-Loved Poems of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (2001), and the anthologies A Family of Poems (2005) and A Family Christmas (2007).Extra credit: Singer Neil Diamond announced in 2007 that his 1969 hit "Sweet Caroline" was inspired by a photo of Caroline Kennedy as a child... Her name is sometimes confused with that of her late sister-in-law Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.
Caroline Kennedy appears with her cousin Maria Shriver in our loop on Clan Kennedy.
