Daniela Hantuchova Biography
Daniela Hantuchova won her first WTA singles title at Indian Wells in 2002, and by the end of that year was ranked #8 in the world in women’s singles.
Hantuchova’s first full season of professional tennis was 1999, the year she turned 16.
Although a steady competitor in singles, she has had more success in mixed doubles where she has won each of the four major tournaments with four different partners.
Hantuchova won mixed doubles titles at Wimbledon in 2001 (with Leos Friedl), at the Australian Open in 2002 (with Kevin Ullyett), at the U.S. Open in 2005 (with Mahesh Bhupathi), and at the French Open in 2005 (with Fabrice Santoro).
Hantuchova stands 5’11” tall, and her extra-long legs have earned her the frequent attention of photographers.
She appeared in the 2009 swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated magazine.
