Ernst Stavro Blofeld
Fictional Villain
Ernst Stavro Blofeld is the longtime nemesis of secret agent James Bond in the novels of Ian Fleming. Blofeld is the mastermind behind the super-secret organization SPECTRE -- the Special Executive for Counterintelligence Revenge and Extortion. Blofeld first appeared in the ninth Bond novel, Thunderball (1961). He has appeared often in the Bond movies, where he has been played by actors including Donald Pleasance, Telly Savalas and Max Von Sydow.Extra credit: Blofeld's habit of cuddling a fluffy white cat while plotting his evil deeds has been much parodied, particularly by Mike Myers with the cat Mr. Bigglesworth in the Austin Powers movie series... As played by Donald Pleasance in You Only Live Twice (1967), Blofeld has a rather hideous scar around his right eye and cheek; Fleming didn't mention a scar in his books, and other on-screen Blofelds were scar-free... Fleming and Blofeld share a birthday: 28 May 1908.
Other popular villains include Professor James Moriarty and Darth Vader.
