Henry Adams

Henry Brooks Adams was the great-grandson of President John Adams, the grandson of President John Quincy Adams and the son of Charles Francis Adams, the Minister to England during the Civil War. Henry Adams worked as a personal secretary to his father, then as a Harvard history professor, but is most widely known for his nine volume history of the administrations of Jefferson and Madison, and for his autobiography, The Education of Henry Adams. The latter was named by The Modern Library as the best non-fiction book of the 20th century.Four Good Links
