Jason Lee Biography
Actor
Jason Lee was a professional skateboarding champion before he was cast as Brodie Bruce in Kevin Smith's movie Mallrats (1995). He then played Banky Edwards in Smith's Chasing Amy (1997, with Ben Affleck), and that film's success led to other roles in a variety of films, including Enemy of the State (1998, with Will Smith), Mumford (1999, with Zooey Deschanel) and Dogma (1999). In 2000 Lee appeared as the egotistical lead singer of Stillwater, the rock bank in Almost Famous, and in 2001 he co-starred with Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky. In 2004 he voiced the character Syndrome from the animated feature The Incredibles, then in 2005 landed the lead in the TV series My Name is Earl, co-starring Jaime Pressly.Extra credit: For Smith's 2001 movie Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Lee reprised his roles as Brodie and Banky.
