Jason Segel is a comic actor of TV and film who wrote and starred in the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Segel was a regular cast member in the short-lived Judd Apatow series Freaks and Geeks (1999, with James Franco and Seth Rogen). Segel played Nick, the tall, awkward drummer smitten with Lindsay (played by Linda Cardellini). The show was cancelled after one season and Segel turned more attention to screenwriting, while still getting acting jobs (including a few episodes of Apatow's series Undeclared). He joined the cast of the Alyson Hannigan series How I Met Your Mother in 2005, and his film career took off after appearing in the Seth Rogen comedy Knocked Up (2007, starring Katherine Heigl). Apatow produced Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008, co-starring Kristen Bell) to decent reviews and good box office receipts, and Segel moved up to the ranks of comic lead. He co-starred with Paul Rudd in the romantic comedy I Love You Man (2009) while still a cast member of How I Met Your Mother.

Extra credit: Segel is 6' 4" and played basketball in high school.
