Jimmy Kimmel Biography
Talk Show Host / Comedian
Jimmy Kimmel has been playing an irreverent, cherub-faced lout on TV since the late 1990s, when he co-hosted Comedy Central's Win Ben Stein's Money (1997-2001) and The Man Show (1999-2003). He started in radio, and after a decade bouncing around the U.S. he got in with the newly-established network Comedy Central. The success of The Man Show allowed Kimmel to produce other projects (including Crank Yankers and The Andy Milonakis Show), and in 2003 he left Comedy Central for a job with ABC, as the host of the midnight show Jimmy Kimmel Live. He doesn't get the audience or respect that hosts like Conan O'Brien and David Letterman get, but Kimmel has a loyal audience and has earned an internet audience through the use of comedy videos.
Extra credit: He dated comedian Sarah Silverman (2003-09), and their relationship spawned two viral videos in 2008 that starred Matt Damon and Ben Affleck... Some sources list his birthday as 1 November and some as 3 November.
