Facts about Josh Hartnett
Josh Hartnett Biography
Actor Josh Hartnett was a leading man of the boyish hunk variety when he got his start in the movies, appearing in the late 1990s in crowd-pleasers like Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and The Faculty.
As 2000 approached, Hartnett was poised for major stardom. After a turn in The Virgin Suicides (2000), he was the star of two big action movies, Black Hawk Down (2001, directed by Ridley Scott) and Pearl Harbor (2001).
Although Pearl Harbor earned mostly raspberries, Hartnett was a star, appearing on magazine covers and TV talk shows and trying to find his niché in filmdom.
He starred in Hollywood Homicide (2003, with Harrison Ford), Sin City (2005, directed by comics artist Frank Miller), Lucky Number Slevin (2006) and 30 Days of Night (2007), then gave his attention to independent films.
While working occasionally, Hartnett focused on raising a family (in the U.S. and the U.K.), returning to regular series work in 2014 for three seasons of Penny Dreadful.
