Fictional Elf
Legolas the elf is one of the heroic members of the Fellowship of the Ring in the J.R.R. Tolkien fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings. Legolas is swift, keen-eyed and an expert archer; he aids the hobbit Frodo and develops a close friendship with the dwarf Gimli. In the Peter Jackson film trilogy based on the books, Legolas is played by actor Orlando Bloom.Extra credit: He is also known as Legolas Greenleaf... Other elves in The Lord of the Rings include Arwen and Galadriel.
