Linda Cardellini

Actor

Linda Cardellini played Velma, the brainy nerd in the perpetual orange sweater, in the 2002 feature film Scooby-Doo. Cardellini kicked off her movie career in the 1998 teen flicks Dead Man on Campus and Strangeland (that was her with her lips sewn shut on the poster). She also had recurring parts on the TV shows Boy Meets World and Guys Like Us before landing a starring role as wild-child honor student Lindsay Weir on the TV drama Freaks and Geeks (1999-2000, also starring James Franco). She had a supporting role as the upper-class Chutney Windham in Legally Blonde (2001, with Reese Witherspoon) and then starred in Scooby-Doo with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze, Jr. In 2003 she joined the cast of the hospital drama ER as Samantha Taggart, a free-spirited nurse. She again played Velma in the 2004 sequel Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

Extra credit: In 1997, Cardellini won a gas fireplace (and met Bob Barker) as a contestant on The Price Is Right.

Other ER cast members have included George Clooney, Gloria Reuben and Julianna Margulies.
