Nick Jonas

Pop Musician

Name at birth: Nicholas Jerry Jonas

Nick Jonas is the youngest of the Jonas Brothers, the teen-friendly pop band made famous by their appearances on the Disney Channel. Nick and his older brothers Joe and Kevin grew up in Wyckoff, New Jersey. As a child Nick began appearing across the Hudson River on Broadway, in small roles like Little Jake in Annie Get Your Gun and Chip in Beauty and the Beast. His stage connections led to a Christian-themed solo album, Nicholas Jonas (2004), which in turn led to the creation of the Jonas Brothers band. Nick Jonas plays guitar and piano and shares lead vocals with his brother Joe. The band's albums include The Jonas Brothers (2007, including the hit single "S.O.S.") and A Little Bit Longer (2008, with the single "Burnin' Up").

Extra credit: Nick Jonas was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2005, and began wearing an insulin pump to help control the illness... The three brothers are all evangelical Christians; their father is a pastor... Nick has a younger brother, Frankie (b. 2000), who is nicknamed the "bonus Jonas."
