The film reimagined the classic Athurian tale, with Owen playing a Roman cavalry officer (Artorius Castus) guarding Hadrian's Wall in what is now England. Guinevere is an arrow-shootin' native to the area; eventually Arthur abandons the Romans to become King (with Guinevere queen) of the Britons.
