Vince Gill

Country Singer / Songwriter

Vince Gill left the pop/country band The Pure Prairie League and in 1984 got a recording contract as a solo artist. During the 1990s Gill hit his stride and had a string of hits, including "When I Call Your Name" and "Worlds Apart." He has won 17 Country Music Awards and 14 Grammy Awards and sold millions of records. In 2000 he married singer Amy Grant. His albums include When I Call Your Name (1989), High Lonesome Sound (1996), Let's Make Sure We Kiss Goodbye (2000), Next Big Thing (2003) and These Days (2006).

Extra credit: Gill's total of 14 Grammy awards beats Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney and Ella Fitzgerald, all of whom have only 13.
