Hilary Duff Biography

Hilary Duff’s acting and singing career took off in 2003 with appearances in three movies and a Top 40 hit, “So Yesterday” (from her debut solo album, Metamorphosis).

Hilary Duff was already a star by way of the title role in the successful Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire (2001-03). After filming The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003), she left the TV show for a career on the big screen, and her busy year included the releases of Agent Cody Banks (with Frankie Muniz) and Cheaper By The Dozen (with Steve Martin), as well as the production of A Cinderella Story (with Chad Michael Murray as her Prince Charming) and Raise Your Voice, both in 2004.

She released her second album, Hilary Duff in 2004, and in 2005 released Most Wanted, a collection of hits and remixes. Her other film credits include Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005), Material Girls (2006, with Hilary’s older sister, Haylie Duff), and What Goes Up (2009). In 2009 she also began a recurring role on the TV series Gossip Girl; among her other TV roles is a starring role in the comedy-drama series Younger, which began in 2015.

Hilary Duff married hockey player Mike Comrie on August 14, 2010. Their son, Luca Cruz Comrie, was born on March 20, 2012. Duff and Comrie separated in 2014 and formally divorced in 2016.
