With that solid start, Jaden’s next job was a supporting role in the big-budget remake The Day the Earth Stood Still (2006, starring Keanu Reeves).
He then landed the lead role in the remake of the 1980s hit The Karate Kid in 2010. (Jaden took the Ralph Macchio role, with Jackie Chan standing in for Pat Morita.)
In 2013 he again co-starred with his father in the sci-fi film After Earth. Jaden Smith has also dabbled in music, releasing various singles and the mixtape The Cool Cafe (2012). He was featured on Justin Bieber‘s 2011 single “Never Say Never.”
