Nicole Beharie Biography
Nicole “Nikki” Beharie is an American actress who is best known as Lt. Abbie Mills on the TV series Sleepy Hollow (2013-16, starring Tom Mison).
Raised in Florida, Beharie attended high school at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts & Humanities in Greenville before studying drama at Juilliard between 2003 and 2007.
She made her film debut in The Express (2008), followed by her first leading role (and an African-American Film Critics Award for best actress) in American Violet (2008).
Beharie had another leading role in My Last Day Without You (2011), then co-starred with Michael Fassbender in Steve McQueen‘s Shame (2011). She played Rachel Robinson (Jackie Robinson‘s wife) in the biopic 42 (2013), and then had a hit series with Sleepy Hollow, an updated fantasy based on the Washington Irving‘s short story.
