Barbara Cartland waves at her books

You think you're an author? You think you've been productive in life? Romance novel author Barbara Cartland begs to differ. Here, at home in 1994, she waves at a wall full of the books she's written. Cartland is said to have published more than 700 books in her lifetime, sometimes cranking out two 50,000-word novels in one month, while some of us struggle to read two novels in a month. Good for her. Barbara Cartland was born in 1901, so she turned 93 the year this photo was taken. She made it to the 2000s, dying at the jolly age of 98 on May 21, 2000.
