Christopher Columbus keeps his chin up
Christopher Columbus doesn't look noble, but he at least looks interested, in this lithograph from the famous duo of Currier & Ives, first published in 1892. It was the 400th anniversary of his trip to the Americas, and the caption reads, "Christopher Columbus. Discoverer of America 1492." Christopher Columbus was born in 1451, so he also turned 441 the year this lithograph was released.
