Coco Chanel rolling just like a flapper
Coco Chanel is about to climb aboard a limo (or a bus? surely not a bus) in this photo from 1928. The floppy hat, copious pearls and knee-length skirt were typical of the "flapper" look of the day although she wore it better than most.
Born in 1883, Coco Chanel would have turned 45 that year. By that point she had her own couture house and textile factory and had created her signature Chanel No. 5 perfume.
