Don Cornelius hosts ‘Soul Train’

Host Don Cornelius (right) stands with Steve Manning (left) and Don Cornelius on the TV show Soul Train. This was a season two episode which aired on May 19, 1973. Steve Manning was president of the Jackson Five Fan Club, and the plaque he's holding indicates that the fan club thinks Soul Train is the "number 1 television program of 1973." Don Cornelius was both creator and host of the show, which ran from 1971 until 2006; Cornelius hosted for the first 22 years.
