Horatio Nelson

A portrait of Rear-Admiral Horation Nelson, painted by Lemuel Francis Abbott about the year 1800.  Nelson was knighted in 1797 and had his greatest success at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 -- though he was killed in action during that same battle.
