Jack Wild in snakeskin Doc Martens

Actor Jack Wild smiles for a photographer in this undated photo, which was taken around the time of his 50th year. Jack Wild was best known for his Oscar-nominated performance as the Artful Dodger in the 1968 musical Oliver! His Doc Marten boots are printed leather, not actual snakeskin. No snakes were harmed in the production of Jack Wild's boots, or in the production of Oliver!, which was set in relatively serpent-free London of the 19th century.
