Paul Allen’s yacht Octopus at Cannes

Here is the Octopus, the yacht of wealthy Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, as it sat off the sunny coast of Cannes, France on May 11, 2011. The yacht was 414 foot (126 meters) long, making it at the time the 12th largest superyacht in the world. You can tell that it's a superyacht because they've taken the trouble to *also* put the name Octopus on the lifeboat. Your ordinary big yacht just doesn't have that attention to detail. Allen was known for the annual Cannes party he held on the Octopus, often playing at the events with his own band.
