The argument against is that the flapper-type fringes and interesting chopped-up-squares construction turns this into a high-fashion statement dress, which she is wearing at a fashionable event. Whereas a little black dress is a simple cocktail-hour dress that looks terrific but does not have flourishes. In the end, because this dress is in fact both minimal in size and black in color, we decree it to be a little black dress.
