Richard Wagner

A photograph of Richard Wagner, composer of such operas as as Der Fliegende Holländer (published in 1841) and Der Ring des Nibelungen (1876).  The photo was taken by Franz Seraph Hanfstaengl in 1871, the year Wagner turned 58.
