Vadim directs Fonda in ‘Barbarella’

Roger Vadim (back right) directs Jane Fonda in the 1968 film Barbarella. The wacky sci-fi film was one of Vadim's bigger hits. It starred Fonda as Barbarella, a sexy space emissary trying to deal with a weapon that could destroy humanity. Vadim and Fonda were husband and wife at the time; they were married from 1965 until their divorce in 1973.
