The Guardian asked director Polly Stenham and 19 other artists, dancers and builders how they find creative inspiration.
For once, the creators didn’t say “I dunno” or “I don’t like to talk about it.” Some replies:
“Try to find a studio with more than one window. I work best when I have windows in two walls, for some reason; maybe it is because there is more light.”
“Get an alarm with a long snooze function and set it early. Shallow-sleep dreams have been the source of many of my best ideas.”
“We all have that small voice that tells us we’re rubbish, and we need to learn when to silence it.”
