Our new Mike Pence biography is now live. He is the Indiana governor who is now Donald Trump‘s running mate on the Republican ticket in 2016.

A few quick Mike Pence facts:
- Born in Columbus, Indiana (not Ohio) in 1959.
- Went to Hanover College in southern Indiana; graduated with a history degree in 1981.
- Met his wife, the former Karen Batten, at college. (Anticipating his proposal, “she had a gold cross engraved with the word ‘yes’ and stashed it in her purse” until he proposed.) They were married in 1985 and have three adult children: Michael (born 1992), Charlotte (b. 1994) and Audrey (b. 1995).
- Earned a law degree from Indiana University in 1986.
- Hosted a radio talk show in Indiana from 1989-2000; described his own style as “Rush Limbaugh on decaf.”

- Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000; served six terms in all, from 2001-13.
- Ran for governor of Indiana and won in 2012; is currently completing his first term.
- Did not ban boys from wearing “gay” colors in Indiana public schools.

- Was preparing to run for reelection as governor when Donald Trump tapped him to be his vice-presidential partner last week. Pence will now give up his run for a second term as governor.
