Andrew Lincoln Biography

From 2010 through 2018 protagonist Rick Grimes on TV’s The Walking Dead has been played by Andrew Lincoln — that’s the stage name of English actor Andrew Clutterbuck.

A veteran of British television since the early 1990s, Lincoln’s most memorable role on the big screen is as the lovesick best man who writes on cue cards for Keira Knightley in 2003’s Love Actually.

The Walking Dead, based on a successful (and adult-oriented) comic book series, featured Lincoln as a small town cop trying to lead a group of survivors through a zombie apocalypse.

Lincoln’s other credits include the series This Life (1996-97), Teachers (2001-03), Afterlife (2005) and Strike Back (2010), and the films These Foolish Things (2005) and Heartbreaker (2010).
