Popcorn king Orville Redenbacher is shown holding a bowl of his product in this publicity photo released by Hunt-Wesson in 1979. (Redenbacher sold his company to the agribusiness conglomerate in 1976. It was later sold again, to ConAgra.) Orville Redenbacher was born in Indiana in 1907, so he turned 72 the year this photo was released.
