Mayim Bialik Biography
Mayim Bialik was a child actress and star of 1990s TV’s sitcom Blossom, but she’s best known for her role on The Big Bang Theory and as the current co-host of the game show Jeopardy!
Bialik’s first acting career lasted from the late 1980s until the mid-1990s, when she left to study neuroscience at the University of California at Los Angeles. She earned her first degree in 2000.
While working on her doctorate (2007), Bialik kept one foot in the entertainment business, mostly doing voice work for animated series, including Recess (1997-2001) and Lloyd in Space (2001-02).
Back in the spotlight after 2005, Bialik had recurring roles in Curb Your Enthusiasm (with Larry David) and The Secret Life of the American Teenager (2010) before joining the cast of The Big Bang Theory in its third season.
During her time on The Big Bang Theory (2007-2019), Bialik was nominated four times for an Emmy award.
In 2021 she appeared as a series regular in Call Me Kat and as a guest host for the game show Jeopardy!
Bialik became permanent co-host, with Ken Jennings, of Jeopardy! in 2022.
Her credits as a kid include the feature films Beaches (1988, she played the younger version of Bette Midler) and Pumpkinhead (1988), and the series The Facts of Life (1988), Webster (1989) and Molloy (1990).
Bialik wrote and directed the 2022 film As They Made Us (featuring Dustin Hoffman and Candice Bergen as old people).
