Ashton Eaton Biography
Ashton Eaton is a Olympic gold medalist and world record holder in the decathlon and the heptathlon. He grew up in central Oregon and attended the University of Oregon, where he won the NCAA world title in the decathlon in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Eaton also won the heptathlon title in 2009, and again in 2010 with a world record of 6,499 points. After graduating in 2010, he competed on the world stage and won the heptathlon title in 2011 and 2012, both times setting a new world record. At the 2012 Olympics in London, Eaton won the gold medal in the decathlon, and the following year he won the World Championships in Moscow, with 8,809 points. At the 2015 championships, he won the decathlon again and set another world record, with 9,045 points.
