Brenton Thwaites Biography

Brenton Thwaites is the young Australian actor who played Jonas in the 2014 film version of Lois Lowry‘s classic novel for young readers, The Giver. He began his professional career shortly after graduating from the Queensland University of Technology in 2010. Thwaites landed two television roles in 2011, first in the series Slide, then in the long-running soap opera Home and Away. He made his American debut in the television movie Blue Lagoon: The Awakening (2012), and has since taken off as a star of the big screen, in movies including The Giver (starring Jeff Bridges), Maleficent (2014, starring Angelina Jolie) and The Signal (2014, with Laurence Fishburne).
