Tennis legend Chris Evert strides into the spotlight in a stylish powder-blue suit during opening night ceremonies at the U.S. Open 2006. This was at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Queens, New York City on August 28, 2006. Evert played Billie Jean King many times; Evert was rising on the pro tennis scene as King was wrapping up her brilliant career. In Chris Evert's first appearance at a U.S. Open semifinal, in 1971, she was defeated by King as King went on to win the tournament.
