David Carradine on the ‘Boxcar Bertha’ set
David Carradine (right, with guitar) sits with his father and fellow actor, John Carradine, on the set of their 1972 film Boxcar Bertha. For a film directed by Martin Scorsese, Boxcar Bertha is notable for its lack of Irish mobsters and goombahs. 1972 was also the year that David Carradine began his star turn as martial artist Kwai Chang Caine on the TV show Kung Fu.
