Dennis Hopper on a chopper in ‘Easy Rider’
Dennis Hopper (left, as Billy) rides the distinctive form of motorcycle known as a "chopper" in the 1969 film Easy Rider. To his left (our right) is Peter Fonda as Wyatt. Easy Rider became a counterculture landmark, with the two antiheroes riding their bikes into adventures across the American south before the film winds to a predictable bummer of an ending. Bad trip, man. Born in 1936, Dennis Hopper was 33 when the film was released.
