Dusty Springfield Biography
Name at birth: Mary O'Brien
Mary O’Brien began singing with a group called The Lana Sisters, then formed the Springfields with her brother. They had a few hits in the U.K., but in 1963 she embarked on a solo career, using her stage name, Dusty Springfield. Over the next decade she had a string of hits, including "You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me" and "Son of a Preacher Man." She died in 1999 from breast cancer.
