Elliot Page Biography
Elliot Page is the actor and producer who was the Oscar-nominated star of the 2007 comedy Juno (with Michael Cera).
Until December of 2020, Page was professionally known as Ellen Page. Raised in Nova Scotia, they began their career on the stage as a child. Canadian audiences got to know them through television work, including Pit Pony in 1999, the television movie Mrs. Ashboro’s Cat (2003) and the sci-fi series ReGenesis (2004).
Page won international attention for their role in the pedophilia-laced thriller Hard Candy (2006), and that performance led to a part as Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat) in X-Men: The Last Stand (2006, starring Hugh Jackman).
Their turn in Juno, Diablo Cody‘s tale of a teen handling pregnancy with pluck and ironic humor, made Page a star and won them an Oscar nomination.
Page followed Juno with the 2008 film Smart People (with Thomas Haden Church), and is known for many dark indie dramas, including Marion Bridge (2002), Mouth to Mouth (2005), An American Crime (2007) and Inception (2010, starring Leonardo DiCaprio).
The star of TV’s Umbrella Academy (2019), Page is also a producer, with credits including Freeheld (2015), Into the Forest (2015) and the documentary There’s Something in the Water (2016).

Elliot Page announced that he was transgender in a post on Twitter on December 1, 2020. The statement read, in part: “Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot. I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life… I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer. And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive.”
