Eva Green Biography
French actress Eva Green is best known for playing Vesper Lynd in the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale (starring Daniel Craig as the titular superspy).
Trained at the Ecole d’Art Dramatique Eva Saint-Paul in Paris, Eva Green spent two years on the French stage before making her film debut in Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Dreamers (2003). She appeared in the French film Arséne Lupin in 2004 (with Kristin Scott-Thomas), and then played a randy royal opposite Orlando Bloom in Kingdom of Heaven (2005, directed by Ridley Scott).
After filming Casino Royale, Green played in the film version of Philip Pullman‘s fantasy novel The Golden Compass, and also co-starred as Morgana in the 2011 cable TV series Camelot. Her other films include Dark Shadows (2012), 300: Rise of an Empire (2014), Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014, with Green as the titular dame) and Based on a True Story (2017, directed by Roman Polanski). She played Colette, the circus trapeze artist who befriends a young flying elephant, in Tim Burton‘s 2019 remake of Dumbo.
On television, she starred for three seasons as a supernatural hero in the gothic horror series Penny Dreadful (2014-16).
