Frederique Van der Wal at a weird screening of ‘Parker’

Here is former supermodel Frederique Van Der Wal on January 23, 2013 in New York City. Our photo service says she is arriving at "the New York Premiere of Parker, held at the Museum of Modern Art." What is unclear to us is why the 2013 film Parker, a standard-issue action potboiler starring Jason Statham as a professional thief on the run, would be screening at the Museum of Modern Art. Is that really art? Is the presence of Jason Statham enough to qualify the film as some kind of arty ironical statement on 21st-century cinema? We don't know. Perhaps Iron Man 3 and The Croods screened at MOMA the next week, with lots of gray-headed Manhattan intellectuals smiling wryly and tut-tutting right along as they enjoyed the films ironically. And maybe Frederique attended those screenings, too!
