Born in 1968, Gary Coleman was a child star best known for his role as spunky Arnold Jackson on the TV sitcom Diff'rent Strokes, which ran from 1978-86. Coleman himself "struggled financially in later life," according to Wikipedia, which possibly explains why he was doing this commercial. He died in 2010.
