Guy Fawkes

"The Discovery of the Gunpowder Plot," a painting by Henry Perronet Briggs, circa 1823. The work depicts the moment when Fawkes was nabbed beneath Parliament by guards; he's the unfortunate gent in the broad-brimmed black hat.

The painting now hangs in the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
