Proud old Henry VIII and his dagger

A portrait of King Henry VIII, from about 1545, by artist Hans Eworth. It is thought to be a close copy of an earlier painting of Henry by Hans Holbein. Henry VIII was born in 1491 and died in 1547, so if the date of 1545 is correct for this artwork, he would have been about 54 years old here -- and just two years from the grave.
