This photo of TV fitness guru Jack LaLanne with his dog, Happy, was taken in the 1950s. Happy was a "white German Shepherd" and lived to be about 12, LaLanne told Larry King in a 2000 interview. Happy was there "to attract kids," LaLanne said. "The kids have control of the television in morning. And I say: Boys and girls, if you go get mother and daddy and bring them over from the television, I'll have Happy do a special trick for you."
