Jack Ruby shoots Lee Harvey Oswald
Jack Ruby (in dark coat) shoots Lee Harvey Oswald at Dallas Police headquarters on November 24, 1963. Ruby had made his way into the basement where Oswald was being transferred for a trip to court. The photo, captured by news photographer Robert H. Jackson, won the Pulitzer Prize of 1964 and became one of the most famous images of the 1960s.
