Jenna Bush Hager Biography

Jenna Bush Hager is the second child of former U.S. president George W. Bush and Laura Bush. (Her fraternal twin, Barbara Bush, was born a few minutes before her. Jenna is blonde, Barbara brunette.)

As the grandchild of President George Bush the elder, and then the daughter of President George Bush the younger, Jenna was much in the public eye during her youth. She enrolled in the University of Texas in 2000, the same year her father was elected to the White House, and graduated with an English degree in 2004.

Bush became an elementary school teacher near Washington D.C., then traveled as an intern with the international children’s organization Unicef. Her book Ana’s Story, based on those travels, was published in 2007. In 2009, The Today Show announced that she would become a special correspondent for the show, while continuing to work as a teacher in Baltimore. Eventually she gave up teaching for TV and rose to become a co-host (with Hoda Kotb) of the morning show Today With Hoda & Jenna.

Jenna Bush married her longtime boyfriend, Henry Hager, on May 10, 2008 in Crawford, Texas. Their first child, a daughter named Margaret Laura “Mila” Hager, was born on April 13, 2013. A second daughter, Poppy Louise Hager, was born on August 13, 2015. A son, Henry (Hal) Hager, was born on August 2, 2019.
