Jesse Eisenberg Biography
Jesse Eisenberg was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in the 2011 movie The Social Network (directed by David Fincher).
Jesse Eisenberg grew up in New Jersey and began acting before he started high school. At the age of 18 he was cast in the film Roger Dodger (2002), the first of his many independent film roles.
He won critical praise for his performance in 2005’s The Squid and the Whale, had the lead role in 2007’s The Education of Charlie Banks and in 2009 co-starred in Adventureland (with Kristen Stewart), Zombieland (with Emma Stone) and Solitary Man (with Michael Douglas).
As the twentysomething tycoon Zuckerberg, Eisenberg was in nearly every scene in The Social Network, and his performance brought a shower of critical praise and dozens of award nominations, including from the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild and BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts), as well as the Oscar nomination as best actor.
Eisenberg’s other films include Now You See Me (2013, and its 2016 sequel), Night Moves (2013, with Dakota Fanning), Café Society (2016, directed by Woody Allen), and, as Lex Luthor, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).

Jesse Eisenberg’s sister, Hallie Kate Eisenberg, was the little-kid ‘Pepsi girl’ in a famous series of TV advertisements starting in the late 1990s.
